Support the day-to-day operations of the Thrift Store by organizing, scheduling pick-ups. Drive truck to pick up donations, load and offload items from customer's homes to the Thrift Store. Driver has a variety of job-related responsibilities as outlined in
this

job description.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

o Must have a valid Idaho State Driver's License.

o Ability to maintain a clean driving record.

o Ability to pass a drug test.

o Must be 21 years of age and over.

o Ability to use efficient time management skills.

o Customer service skills.

o Ability to follow instructions.

o Ability to read map or use GPS device.

o Ability to work effectively and efficiently with a variety of personalities.

o Must have some knowledge of product value.

o Demonstrate skill in written and verbal communication in English.

o Demonstrate skill in decision-making.

o Strong organizational skills.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


o Acquire pick-up tickets and organize routes in the most time and fuel-efficient manner.

o Pick up donations from various locations within Twin Falls County and other surrounding areas.

o Write donation receipts as requested by donors.

o Load donations on the truck in the most organized manner possible to enable as many pick-ups as possible for each truckload.

o Load donations in an orderly and secure manner to minimize potential damage/breakage to donated merchandise.

o Obey all traffic signs, signals and laws while driving a Salvation Army vehicle.

o Complete proper daily vehicle inspections and usage/mileage logs for The Salvation Army truck.

o Report any maintenance issues to the Manager immediately.

o At all times maintain cleanliness of the exterior and interior areas of the truck.

o Report vehicle accidents or traffic law violations immediately to supervisor.

o Comply with Safety Guidelines and report any violations to supervisor immediately.

o Bring in donations from in front and back of store and assist Donors with their donations. Keep outside of store and lot free of clutter and trash. Keep back yard of store tidy.

o Responsible to take garbage to dumpster as needed. Attend training sessions as deemed necessary.

o Perform other job related responsibilities and tasks (other than those stated in this job description) when directed by Manager.


Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift a minimum of 100+ pounds. Must be able to perform routine physical movements to move large items such as sitting, walking, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling and carrying heavy objects. When not driving the
job requires you to be on your feet the majority of the time.


Working Conditions:

Work requires driving a truck with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, sow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, etc.


MISCELLANEOUS:


Immediate dismissal is possible for any of the following:

o Any violation of standards as outlined in the Employee Handbook

o Failure to report any accident immediately.

o Improper handling of Salvation Army Property and/or money.

o Reporting to work under the influence of alcohol or drugs that have not been prescribed by a physician.


The Salvation Army does have a dress code. This will be shared with you at the time of employment.
